Welcome to the website of The French Viola Society!

Our organization, founded in 2021, serves as the French section of the International Viola Society. In 2024, we merged with Les Amis de l'Alto, the historical organization for violists in France since 1979. We are delighted to unite and continue our projects together! Among our activities, we will maintain the National Young Violists Competition, which has been held in France since 1980 and will be open to neighboring countries this year.

We recently translated our website and hope you enjoy it! We apologize for any errors you may encounter as our team of French violists (orchestra members, chamber musicians, teachers, etc.) is managing the website themselves :)
